I am not saying Windows is better or Mac is better. I don't have the number but predominantly, the customers we interact and the industries we serve are all Windows-based systems. But, at the time when INV was developed initially, the market condition told us Windows was the best choice.Ĭertainly, there are loyal Mac users hoping every Windows-based software has a native Mac version. If we could turn back the clock, we might be able to structure INV differently so it would support multiple OS, other than Windows. ![]() I was told that the architecture of ACAD was quite different than INV and the ACAD customer base was much bigger than INV. ![]() One can argue that why ACAD can be on Mac but why INV isn't. Not only that, the support structure (people develop, maintain, build, and test) will be much bigger than now. It would be a huge endeavor for a big program like Inventor. A large portion of the program (from install to UI, document handling, graphics system, and other OS dependent functions) has to be rewritten and reworked. ![]() To support an additional operation system, it is not like a flick of switch. ![]() Let me try it and see if I provide good information. Hi! This is a tough question to answer I have to admit.
